We used clay and black pipe cleaners to make these Halloween Spiders. We used wool and paper plates to help the spider weave his web. We enjoyed singing 'The Incy Wincy Spider' during while we were making the spiders and the webs.

The boys and girls had so much fun with beanbag activities last Friday. Throwing and catching are very important gross motor skills the children should practise regularly at home.

The fun and learning continues in the Aistear Room.

Station 1: Art- The children will learn some facts about the squirrel. They will paint a squirrel template and use torn leaves to decorate the busy tail.

Station 2: Investigation- The children will explore all the leaves and group them according to type, colour and size. The children will complete leaf rubbings with the leaves.

Station 3: Clay: The children will learn some facts about the hedgehog. They will use clay, match sticks, conkers etc. to form their own hedgehogs.

Station 4: Crafts: The children will explore all the leaves and group them according to type, colour and size. The children will make 'leaf people' using all the available leaves.

Station 5: Sand- The children will pretend to be squirrels, burying through the sand to collect the conkers, acorns, leaves etc. The children will practise their phonics, by identifying the sound printed on the objects found in the sand.

Station 6: Yoga & Make Belief- Ruby Broom: In the Halloween Special, we meet Ruby Broom. Now, Ruby's a witch and the kids at school have been teasing her about it. On Halloween night, they realise how unique and wonderful she is - and we learn that being ourselves and encouraging other people to be themselves is good for the world.
