Aistear: March/ April 2017

The children explored the theme of 'Spring' through the following stations:

Arts & Crafts: The children learnt some basic facts about the rabbit and then made their own rabbits using socks and rice (see photographs)
Active Station: The children discussed how we celebrate 'Easter' and then completed a yoga lesson based on 'Peter Cottontail'. 
Playdough Station: The children read the story 'Little Red Hen', discussed the stages involved in the process of making bread and then used their 'Little Red Hen' playdough mats. 
Literacy Station: The children read and discussed the story 'The Tale of Peter Rabbit' and then wrote a diary entry for Peter. 
Planting Station: The children discussed spring flowers and had the chance to plant their own bulbs in little pots. 
Small World: Using our farm and animal playsets, the children discussed the work of a farmer and also focused on the baby animals born on the farm each spring.
