Congratulations to all 2nd Class pupils who received their First Holy Communion on May 13th. Many thanks to their teacher Mrs. Norah Barry for all her hard work preparing the girls for this special day.
A big thank you to all girls (2nd- 6th Class) and Mrs. Emer Twomey who gave up their Saturday morning to provide the beautiful singing and music during the ceremony.
There are a small number of children in the school at present who suffer from a severe allergy to nuts. If one of these children should come in contact with nuts, he/she would have a serious reaction. This is now a serious Health and Safety matter, with potentially fatal consequences for a certain number of pupils. As we do not wish to put any child in such a dangerous position, we are asking all parents once again not to give their children nuts or products containing nuts in their lunchboxes, i.e. NUTELLA, peanut butter, chocolate bars/ biscuits/ cakes containing nuts. Considering this a health promoting school, most of these products are already discouraged. We would greatly appreciate your support in this matter.
First Holy Communion takes place this Saturday (May 13th) in Millstreet. Each year, tea/ coffee is served after the Mass in the G.A.A. Hall and this is organised by the Parents' Association. If any of the parents of school going children are available to help serve the tea/ coffee this Saturday, please contact 086 6635625.
We greatly appreciate any help offered.
Thanks and kind regards,
Sinéad Corkery (Chairperson)
Claire Twomey (Secretary)
Sheila Lane (Treasurer)
Best wishes to our 2nd Class girls who will receive the Sacrament of the Eucharist at 11am on Saturday. (May 13th)
Dear Parents,
For our school tour this year Junior and Senior Infants are going to 'The Farm' in Grenagh on Friday June 2nd. The cost of the tour is €15 (this includes the bus and entry to 'The Farm' but your child will need to bring their own packed lunch).
At this point, we are not collecting money, we simply need you to sign the attached note to specify whether or not your child will attend the tour. We need you to return this note by Friday May 12th so that we will have the exact numbers for booking the bus and 'The Farm'.
We will collect the money for the tour on Wednesday May 24th. Please do not send in money to school before this date.
A big thank you to Brendan and Marie for visiting Room 6 & Room 8 with their wide variety of exotic animals. The children learnt lots of interesting facts and thoroughly enjoyed this show.
