Jerry Pat and all at O' Leary Butchers were kind enough to invite our 5th & 6th Class to a cookery demonstration by Adrian of TV3 in the GAA Hall. Adrian spoke about healthy eating and demonstrated how to cook chicken curry and also a steak dish. We got to sample his cooking afterwards and it was delicious! Jerry Pat also took part in the demonstration and showed us all how to cook a chicken. 5th & 6th Class have been learning all about World War 2. They planted crocuses in our school yard in memory of all the children who lost their lives during the Holocaust. These crocuses will bloom every spring.Millstreet/ Ballydaly
Two members of the Irish Defence Force visited our school today to present us with the Irish Flag and a copy of the Proclamation. Guests of honour included Mr. Tadgh Crowley, Mrs. Kathleen Crowley and Mr. Jerry Lehane. Méabh (6th Class) read the Proclamation superbyly for us all. Méabh Crowley (4th Class) was presented with the Irish Flag not only on behalf of our school but also in commemoration of her great grandfathers involvement with the Cork Brigade 5th Batallion. It was a very informative visit and we are very proud of our 1916 Rising connections here in our school.
